On March 24, 2020, the number of new Covid-19 cases in New York City had increased

significantly, with medical supplies being in short supply. John Lan and Bentley Zhao started a fundraiser and planned to raise $100,000, with the donations being used for the purchase of medical supplies to support New York City’s police and medical staff.
